Angry mob pelt stones on train in West Bengal's Bethuadhari

A mob of around 1,000 people pelted stones on the train in Bethuadhari, Nadia district of West Bengal. Several passengers have received injuries due to stone-pelting. The incident took place amid a protest by locals over alleged controversial religious remarks. 

Eklavya Chakraborty, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway said that “an unruly mob of 1,000 people pelted stones on the train. A few people were injured. As of now, no train is running there, we are waiting for the state government’s permission.”
