: Akshay Kumar, on Thursday, shared a heartwarming teaser of his upcoming film Raksha Bandhan. The actor announced August 11 as the release date for his upcoming film. Akshay, who was recently seen in historical drama Samrat Prithviraj, is set to return on silver screen with Anand L Rai directorial.
Akshay took to his Instagram and posted the teaser of Raksha Bandhan along with the release date of the film. He wrote, “Bringing you all a story of the purest form of bond that will remind you of yours! #RakshaBandhan releasing in cinemas on 11th August, 2022. #ReturnToFeelings #RakshaBandhan11August.”
Soon after the video was posted by the star, his fans began posting their comments to show their excitement. While one fan wrote, “Finally a perfect movie for brother and sister love, ” another one commented, “Blockbuster on the way”. One of the fans chipped in, “Pure original movie.”
Along with Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Bhumi Pednekar, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth. The film is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. The story revolves around the bond between a brother and sister. Previously, Bhumi and Akshay have worked together in 2017 film ‘Toilet: Ek prem katha’.
Interestingly, Akshay Kumar’s film will clash with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s highly anticipated Laal Singh Chadda. The film was originally scheduled to be released in April. The creators delayed the film to avoid conflict with Yash star “KGF: Chapter 2.” While enjoying Independence Day weekend, it will be interesting to see how these two films fare at the box office.
It should be noted that Akshay Kumar had earlier delayed the release date of Bachchhan Paandey to avoid a conflict with Laal Singh Chaddha of Aamir Khan, which was due to be released around Christmas. Following this, the actor had shifted the release date to August 11, and now co-incidentally Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan is set to clash with Laal Singh Chaddha. It will be interesting to see which of the films is more successful at the box office, or a change in the release date will take place again.
