New Delhi:
As the Congress party on Monday held a ‘Satyagrah’ protest on Jantar Mantar in the national capital against ‘Agnipath Yojana’, party leader Salman Khurshid said the recruitment scheme puts question mark on the ‘character of the armed forces.’
“This is not an issue for the youth alone. There is now a question mark on the character of the armed forces. That is a matter of grave concern,” said Khurshid.
While clarifying the agenda of ‘Satyagrah’, Khurshid said, “What problem will we have if the people, for whom this has been brought, are satisfied? But they are not, they are screaming and crying. It is our duty to present their tears, the cause of their sorrow before the nation.”
Retaliating to Kurshid along with several Congress leaders voicing against the ‘
Agnipath Yojana
‘, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Shehzad Poonawala accused them to instigate fire in the name of ‘Agniveer’.
