: Audiences are honouring the sacrifice made by Major Sandeep. Adivi Sesh’s Major has had an exceptional start globally. The film has garnered 13.4cr at the global box office. Audiences and critics have unanimously appreciated the gallant effort the Major team has put to showcase the inspirational life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and his supreme sacrifice at the 26/11 attack in Mumbai.
The film is expected to see growth over the weekend with great word of mouth from the first of its kind pre-release multi-city premieres. Adivi Sesh has broken his global BO records with Major being his biggest opener to date with 4 times more collections than his previous hit.
Thursday previews suggested that the film will open to over a Rs 2 crore collection at the box office. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Major springs a wonderful surprise in #USA Thu previews: $ 270,403 [ 2.10 cr]. Opens much, much bigger than #AdiviSesh’s previous films. @comScore (sic).” The actual Day 1 box office numbers are awaited.
Andhra Box Office tweeted, “#MajorTheFilm (Telugu) off to a Superb Start Today at the BoxOffice Worldwide! The response from the audiences inside theatres has been terrific from last night with Whistles, Roars & #BharatMataKiJai Chants. #Major (sic).”
Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and the story is written by Adivi Sesh. The film features Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murali Sharma in pivotal roles. T
