AAP to stage protest in solidarity with Kashmiri Pandits at Jantar Mantar on June 5

New Delhi:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on June 5 against rising targeted killings in Kashmir. The demonstration will be held in solidarity with Kashmiri Pandits.

A news agency UNI reported about the demonstration to be held by the AAP workers in the national capital. Earlier, AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had strongly condemned the innocent killings in the valley saying that the time of 90s is returning as the government could not provide security to them.

Referring to the deaths of Kashmiri Pandit government employee Rahul Bhatt and a school teacher named Rajni Bala, he said, “This year 16 Kashmiri Pandits have been selectively targeted. Today, Kashmiri Pandits are making only one demand from the government – “protect them from terrorists. They should be given security.”

The Delhi CM said that Hindu and Muslim of Kashmir want to live with unity which is the danger upon terrorist outfits. Kejriwal asserted that the Kashmiri Pandits are flocking outside the valley as they are not given proper security.

The CM urged the Centre to settle the Kahsmiri Panidits in the valley and promised full support in the process.

Tensions gripping over Kashmir where Hindu minority people, in a huge number, are seeking relocation to their home districts fearing to the increasing innocent killings.

Another migrant labourer, identified as 17-year-old Dilkhush Kumar from Bihar, was killed and two others sustained injuries after terrorists shot at them in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam. This attack comes only hours after a Hindu bank manager from Rajasthan, identified as Vijay Kumar, was shot dead in Kulgam. He was shot right outside his office.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a branch of the banned Pakistan-backed terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the attack.

Protesting against the spate of targeted killings in Kashmir, non-local government employees in a huge number on Thursday staged a massive demonstration demanding immediate transfers to their home districts.

The agitating government employees threatened that they will not return to work as the government could not provide them a secure atmosphere to live in the valley.
