7th Pay Commission:

The fortunes of more than one crore central employees and pensioners are about to shine once again. In July, the salaries of central employees and pensions of pensioners are likely to increase drastically. From July 2022, the DR of employees and DR of pensioners may increase by 5 per cent. Central employees are currently getting DA at the rate of 34 per cent which will increase to 39 per cent in July.

It is being reported that the government may increase the DA by 4 per cent in July on the basis of the All India Consumer Price Index. According to the AICP Index, the figure was 125.1 in January and 125 in February. While in March it increased to 126 this month. In April, it has seen a bigger jump. The AICPI index stood at 127.7 points in April. It is confirmed that dearness allowance will increase at the rate of 4 per cent in the coming days. But, the May and June figures are yet to come. If this index goes beyond 129, the DA could increase by 5 per cent.

The minimum basic salary at Rs 18,000, the total increase in DA at 39 per cent per annum would be Rs 7,020. This means an increase of Rs 900 per month over the existing DA. In total, central employees with a basic salary of Rs 18,000 will be paid DA of Rs 84,240 per annum. On the other hand, if you look at the maximum basic salary at Rs. 56900, then the total increase in DA will be Rs. 22191 per annum. This means an increase of Rs 1233 per month over the existing DA.

, revision is done twice in dearness allowance and inflation relief of central employees. The first is given in the month of January and the second in the month of July. The government had on March 30 hiked DA and DR by 3 per cent. After which it increased from 31 to 34 per cent.

DA is given to improve the living conditions of government employees. It is given to government employees, public sector employees and pensioners. The reason for this is that even in the face of rising inflation, the standard of living of the employees remains better.
