When KGF star Yash revealed he ran away from home with Rs 300 to become an actor

New Delhi:

Superstar Yash is currently riding high on the success of his latest offering, KGF: Chapter 2. Ever since its release, the film has been on a record breaking spree. KGF: Chapter 2, which was released in the second week of April, continues to have the cash registers ringing at the box office. The Prasanth Neel directorial, also starring Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt, has crossed a worldwide collection of Rs 1100 crore, becoming the third highest-grossing Indian film.

KGF: Chapter 2, which is sequel to 2018 film KGF: Chapter 1, revolves around the further story of how Rocky Bhai (the main lead) conquers the whole world. Going reel to real, just like the main character Rocky, Yash has also managed to gain superstardom across the entire country. But it wasn’t always the same for him. In fact, Yash’s success story is one for the books. Coming from a lower middle class family, it was difficult for Yash to foray in the movie business.

In an interview with The News Minute, the actor opened up about his life struggles and ordeals he faced as a commoner. “It’s not like it happened overnight. Success came to me slowly. Gradually people started noticing me. Initially I had a tough time getting producers. Gradually people were convinced of my good work. I have seen failure. I have seen a lot of hardship even as a child. So I don’t take success too seriously. I know it won’t last forever. I know how people treat you when your are not successful,” he said.

During his journey, the superstar had his share of adventures and obstacles when he started off. Talking about it, he said, “I ran off from my home. When I came to Bengaluru, I was scared the minute I reached. Such a big, intimidating city. But I was always a confident guy. I wasn’t scared to struggle. I had just 300 rupees in my pocket when I reached Bengaluru.”

What is intriguing is that while Yash has reached his new heights, his father continue to work as a bus driver. Recently during an event, talking about the same SS Rajamouli had revealed that “I was amazed after knowing that Yash is the son of a bus driver. I’m told that his father works as a bus driver even today. To me, Yash’s father is the real star more than the actor.”
