Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings is playing their last fixture of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 as they have already been eliminated from the tournament due to poor performance. In their game against Rajasthan Royals, the captain came on the crease to support Moeen Ali who shouldered the entire responsibilities of his team in the game.
Dhoni supported the middle-order batter till the end of the 18th over and a fiery shot on the last ball pulled the curtains down on the Dhoni-Ali show. On the ball of Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhoni took his leg forward to hit the ball in the air and he knew instantly that he made a mistake.
The ball landed in the hands of Jos Buttler and the umpire’s finger went in the air, declaring him out. CSK captain had to walk back to the dressing for 26 runs off 28 balls.
