A woman in Baripada city of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district has become a social media sensation after images of her sweeping roads with her child tied to her back went viral. Laxmi Mukhi, who is a sweeper, said she has to carry her baby on work as the woman is alone in her family.
“I have been working in Baripada Municipality for the last 10 years. I am alone in my home so I have to tie my child on my back and work,” said Laxmi.
However, Laxmi exuded that carrying her child on back while working is not a problem for her instead it is her duty.
Meanwhile, Badal Mohanty, Chairman, Baripada Municipality informed that the officials have been asked to help the lady with all of her needs.
He said, “Laxmi Mukhi is our cleaning staff. Due to some personal issues, she carries her baby with her and performs her duties every day. I’ve instructed my officials to a watch on her needs, if there is any problem we will support her.”
