The IPO of insurance sector giant LIC opened for common investors on Wednesday. Common investors will be able to bid for a stake in the LIC IPO till May 9.

The LIC IPO was opened for anchor investors on Monday and was oversubscribed on the very first day itself. The government will raise Rs 21,000 crore by selling 3.5 per cent of its stake in the LIC. This is the biggest IPO ever in the Indian market.

Earlier in 2021, Paytm had an IPO of Rs 18,300 crore and in 2010, Coal India had an IPO of Rs 15,200 crore.

Key details of LIC IPO:

LIC IPO GMP: According to reports, LIC IPO grey market premium (GMP) today is Rs 85. On Monday, this was Rs 69.

LIC IPO date: The public issue opened on May 4, 2022. It is scheduled to close on May 9, 2022.

LIC IPO price: The government of India has fixed the price band of LIC IPO at Rs 902 to Rs 949 per equity share.

LIC IPO size: The government aims to raise around Rs 21,000 crore from the IPO, making it the biggest IPO in India till date.

LIC IPO lot size: One lot of LIC IPO consists of 15 LIC shares.

LIC IPO application limit: Each bidder of LIC IPO will be able to apply for a minimum of one lot. The maximum number of lots a single bidder is allowed to bid for is 14.

LIC IPO investment limit: Minimum amount required to apply for the LIC IPO is Rs 14,235. The maximum amount allowed for a single retail investor is Rs 1,99,290.

Discount for LIC policyholders: LIC policy holders will be granted a discount of Rs 60 per equity share in the LIC IPO.

Discount for LIC employees: LIC employees and agents will be granted a discount of Rs 45 per equity share.

LIC IPO allotment date: The LIC IPO allocation will be announced on May 12, 2022.

LIC IPO listing: Shares of the LIC IPO are tentatively scheduled to be listed on BSE and NSE on May 17, 2022.

How to Apply for LIC IPO:

Step 1: Investors need to log in to the online net-banking account.

Step 2: Go to the Investments section.

Step 3: Click on the IPO/e-IPO option.

Step 4: Fill in depository details and bank account details.

Step 5: Once the verification is complete, click on the option ‘Invest in IPO’.

Step 6: Go to LIC IPO and add the number of shares and ‘Bid price’.

Step 7: Read the bid terms and conditions carefully and click on ‘Apply Now’.

When you click on ‘Apply Now’, the application amount will be blocked. The account will be debited after allotment of shares.
