Uttar Pradesh: 5 killed in explosion at firecracker factory in Saharanpur

Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh): 

Five people were killed and one injured after a fire broke out at a firecracker factory in Saharanpur, western UP. The injured has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath has also expressed grief over the incident. According to the UP Police, 7-8 people used to work in the licensed firecracker factory. The incident took place in the Balwantpur village near Saurana of police station Sarsawa area.

After the blast in the factory, 3 people died on the spot, after which 2 more people became breathless. All the people who died in the accident were residents of Salempur police station area of Sarsawa.

After the accident, Saharanpur IG Dr Preetinder Singh reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He told that information was received about seven to eight people working in the factory. 3 bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The injured have been sent to the hospital in a critical condition.

Efforts are on to contact the family members of the injured person. Efforts are on to clear the debris from the spot so that if there is any casualty or any other injury, it can be rescued soon. Factory workers Rahul, Sagar, Karthik, Vardhanpal, Sumit have died in the accident in Saharanpur. 

At the same time, the name of the injured person is being told as Vansh alias Vishal. Police are trying to find the reason for the blast.

CM Yogi expresses grief

UP CM Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of people in the accident in Saharanpur’s firecracker factory. CM Yogi directed the officials of the district administration to reach the spot and rescue the trapped people safely and provide proper treatment to the affected.
