UP Budget 2022: Know all about ‘Atmanirbhar UP’ budget of Yogi Adityanath here

The first budget of the second term by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government led by CM Yogi Adityanath government was presented in the assembly on Thursday. A budget of 6 lakh 15 thousand 518 crore has been presented for the year 2022-23 by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government. 

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget in the UP Vidhansabha. While presenting the budget, he said that the state is continuously moving on the path of development under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. 

“We took action against the mafia. An atmosphere of law and order was created in the state. With the establishment of law and order rule in the state, investments are being made on a large scale. 2.5 lakh farmers have been given the benefit of the Kisan Nidhi scheme. The people of UP gave us a chance again. For this we express our gratitude to the people of the state. Soon 5 international airports will be ready in UP. This will be a first for any state in the country,” he said.

Special emphasis on religious events

Special emphasis has been given by the Uttar Pradesh government on religious events. Preparations are being started by the government for organizing the Purna Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj. A budget of 100 crores has been proposed in this financial year on the event to be held after two years. 

Meanwhile, the work of construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is going on. The government is preparing to decorate the city. In this budget, a budget provision of Rs 140 crore has been made for the development of Suryakund in Ayodhya.

UP Budget 2022 announcements regarding farmers:

– In case of accidental death or disability of farmers, there is a provision to give a maximum of Rs 5 lakh. A provision of Rs 650 crore has been proposed for this scheme in the budget of the financial year 2022-2023.

– In place of diesel power for irrigation to the farmers, solar pumps are being installed on the farms of farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Mahabhiyan Yojna under alternative energy management.

– 15,000 solar pumps will be installed in the financial year 2022-2023.

– 60.20 lakh quintal seeds are proposed to be distributed in the financial year 2022-2023.

– The target is to distribute 119.30 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers in the year 2022-2023.

– Free irrigation facility is being provided to the farmers through 34,307 state tube wells and 252 small branch canals.

– A provision of Rs 1000 crore is proposed for the Chief Minister’s Minor Irrigation Scheme.

– The minimum support price of paddy was fixed at Rs 1940 per quintal and the minimum support price for grade A paddy was fixed at Rs 1960 per quintal. The minimum support price of wheat was fixed at Rs 2015 per quintal.

Big announcements of the budget:

– Old age pension has been increased from 500 to 1000.

– A budget of 31 thousand crores has been proposed for revamp in electricity.

– A budget of 2100 crores has been given to 14 medical colleges.

– 500 crore has been made for green field and industrial corridor.

– 695 crore has been made for Meerut-Prayagraj Ganga Expressway.

– There is a budget provision of 18500 crores for PWD roads.

– A budget provision of 500 crores was made for Kashi Vishwanath Rajghat bridge.

– 897 crores have been given for Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana.

– Development works will be done along the Bundelkhand Expressway, Defense Corridor.

– A budget of 2700 crores is proposed for flood control.

– The Jal Jeevan Mission in Namami Gange has been proposed over Rs 19,500 crore.

Announcements made in the UP budget regarding women:

– Women’s help desks have been set up at all 1535 police stations of all the districts of the state, designating women beat constables.

– In the districts of the state, 2740 women police personnel have been allotted 10,370 women beats.

– Three women PAC battalions are being formed in Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Badaun.

– Cyber help desk is being set up at the district level in the state. A provision of Rs 72 crore 50 lakh has been proposed for women empowerment scheme.

– In the call of Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao, 100 topper girl students of UPSEE 2018 have been provided laptops and 100 topper SC and ST girl students have been provided laptops.

– A provision of Rs 20 crore has been proposed for women’s safety and empowerment and skill development under the Mission Shakti program in the micro and small scale industries sector.

– In order to motivate the Anganwadi workers for better performance, incentive amount is being provided at the rate of 1500 rupees per month from September 2021.

Announcements in the budget for students and youth:

– A target has been set to create 4 lakh jobs in 5 years.

– 7540 posts will be recruited in secondary education.

– 10 thousand posts will be filled in medical colleges.

Development will be boosted like this:

– Gram Unnati Yojana will run in the name of Kalyan Singh. Under this, solar lights will be installed in villages.

– A budget of 747 crores has been proposed to Kanpur Metro Rail.

– A budget of 597 crores has been presented to Agra Metro Rail.

– 1306 crore is proposed for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor.

– Metro rail will also start in Banaras and Gorakhpur.

– Green Energy Corridor will be constructed in Bundelkhand.

– A budget of 100 crores has been proposed for Banaras and Gorakhpur Metro.

– A budget of 1353 crores has been kept for the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban.

– A budget of 500 crores is proposed for the special plan of Bundelkhand.

– 508 for Vantangia and Musahar accommodationA budget provision of Rs.

– A budget of 7373 crores has been kept for PM Gram Sadak Yojana.

Special provisions made in the budget regarding security

A plan has been prepared to construct ATS centers in Meerut, Bahraich, Kanpur, Azamgarh and Rampur. UP Special Security Force has been constituted for the security of important establishments in the state, for which a provision of Rs 276 crore 66 lakh has been proposed in the budget. 

Also, a budget provision of Rs 730 crore 88 lakh has been made for the second phase of the UP 112 scheme. Programs will be run in Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj for the safety of women under City Safe Scheme. For this, a provision of Rs 523 crore 34 lakh has been made in the budget. 

A budget of 250 crores has been kept for equipping the police stations of the districts with security equipment and weapons. It has been made clear by the government that work will also be completed on the plan for construction of Forensic Science Laboratory and UP Forensic Science Institute in Lucknow.

1.41 crore electricity connections given in the state

Presenting the budget, the Finance Minister mentioned the work done by the government. He said that 1.41 crore electricity connections were given in the state. 

“The investment has helped in generating five lakh jobs. Free ration facility was given to 15 crore farmers. Poor families got the benefit of this scheme during the coronavirus pandemic,” he said. 

Referring to the development plans, he said that the plan to build a film city in UP is being worked out. 

“Record payments have been made to sugarcane farmers,” he added.
