Two persons have been arrested by the Jaffna Chunnakam Police on Monday for assaulting a bowser driver and his assistant carrying fuel to the Chunnakam area in Jaffna.
Chunnakam police said the attack was carried out alleging the delay in supplying fuel to Jaffna and that the two arrested in connection with the incident were two brothers aged 26 and 28 from the same family.
They were both intoxicated at the time and the police made a concerted effort to arrest them as they had behaved violently. Police have taken steps to produce the two suspects in Mallakam Court.
