Srinagar:
Three Pakistani terrorists and a J&K Police cop was killed in a fierce gunfight between terrorists and security forces at Kreeri area of Baramulla in North Kashmir.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar told News24, “we have killed three Pakistani terrorists of JeM, they were active in hilly area of Tangmarg since last 3-4 months and we were tracking them”. IGP said one police personnel also martyred during this operation.
A police officer told News24 that the encounter broke out after joint security forces including army, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off the area following inputs about the presence of militants there.
Soon there was contact between the hiding terrorists and forces and fierce gunfight took place for about half an hour, during which three Pakistani JeM terrorists were killed, large quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the killed terrorists. Officials said these terrorists were planning to carryout some big attack in the area but before they could have succeed forces neutralize them in a joint operation today.
Officials told News24 during this year till now, besides around 50 local terrorists forces have killed 22 Pakistani terrorists, which is big success for forces in the valley.
