In the compact SUV segment, Tata Motors’ Nexon continues to perform well in terms of sales. Last April, it became the country’s best-selling passenger vehicle and made its way to number one. The company has sold a total of 13,471 units of this SUV during this period, which is 94 percent more than just 6,938 units in the same month last year. The SUV is being well received due to the sporty design of the Nexon and the 5 star safety rating available in it. By the way, many customers still complain about its design
Engine options
The Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. Apart from this, it also has a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that generates 110 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. These engines are mated to 6 speed manual and automatic transmissions. For safety, it gets the facility of anti-lock braking system and air bags.
Let us tell you that Maruti Breeza and Hyundai Creta are also very high selling SUVs in this segment but their magic seems to be diminishing in front of Nexon. Hyundai sold 12,651 units of Creta last month (April 2022) while Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza sold 11,764 units last month. Tata Nexon price starts at Rs 7.54 Lakh.
