Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) vehemently condemned the brutal attack on peaceful protesters at Galle Face, Colombo on May 9 carried out by political mobs.
SLFP Senior Vice President former Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva speaking to the media in the Party headquarters in Colombo yesterday, said those who led the mobs and attacked the protesters should be prosecuted regardless of their status in order to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
He said stern action should be taken against those who robbed the properties of the victimized parties amidst the violence took place throughout the country following this attack.
Investigations into the both incidents should be carried out with immediate effect, he said.
