Sarkaru Vaari Paata box office collection Day 1: Mahesh Babu film falls short of blockbuster

Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata has registered a decent opening at the global box office. According to trade reports, the film is off to a flying start not just in the US, but also in India. In fact, Sarkaru Vaari Paata grossed Rs 12.24 crore in the Nizam area alone. Directed by Parasuram Petla, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is a commercial entertainer that talks about the banking system.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata released on May 12 (Friday) in multiple languages. The film was postponed multiple times due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The film received mixed reviews from the critics and audience alike. According to the official Twitter handle of Andhra Box Office, the film collected Rs 12.24 crore in Nizam. Their post read, “#SarkaruVaariPaata Nizam 1st Day Creates Non-RRR Record with Rs 12.24 Cr Share! (including all) (sic).”

With almost no big releases in the coming two weeks, the film is supposed to grow even further. The makers of the movie and the film trade trackers are expecting a good collections for Sarkaru Vaari Paata during the weekend as well. 

Speaking with the media, producer Naveen Yerneni said, “The film got a unanimous blockbuster response from the morning shows itself. We thank Mahesh Babu and director Parasuram Petla for giving us such a big hit. The response from fans in theatres is awesome. The movie has already collected over $1 million through premieres. It is a record, and we are so happy. The film is going to pocket huge collections for the next two weeks. We hope this film will be the second biggest grosser, after RRR.”

With Keerthy Suresh, Samuthirakani, and Vennela Kishore in other leading roles, Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus, and GMB Entertainments bankrolled the project. SVP has music by S Thaman and cinematography by R Madhi.
