'Not BJP but Congress, NCP our real enemies': Shiv Sena leader

Raigad (Maharashtra):

Shiv Sena (youth wing) leader Vikas Gogawale on Thursday took a dig at the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress party. Gogawale called the two parties real enemies of Shiv Sena instead of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Pointing out at the low vote share in the state of the BJP, the Shiv Sena leader said, “We’re expanding our party here. BJP has a low vote share in Mahad Taluka. NCP and Congress party are our real enemies here as they take credit for the works done by Shiv Sena workers.”

The leader further said that efforts were being made to mar the alliance.

“Four former Congress corporators and a Shiv Sena corporator joined NCP last month in the presence of NCP state president Jayant Patil here. We’re trying to save our alliance but they are working to spoil it,” he concluded.

Earlier this month, the MVA ally NCP joined hands with the BJP for the Zila Parishad polls. The party came under fire after that and were accused of “backstabbing the grand old party” by its ally Congress.

Notably, the NCP-BJP alliance at the Zilla Parishad won the polls. Pankaj Rahangdale from the BJP was elected as the president and NCP’s Yashwant Gunvir as the vice-president.
