This year, she couldn’t attend the gala due to her pregnancy and fans surely missed her.
On Monday, the singer took a video to her Instagram account featuring a statue of her with a baby bump in what appears to be the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her caption read, “shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!”
The statue is a product of expert VFX and editing but fans went crazy over it as it surely is a tribute to their idol. Fans flooded the comment section with heart-eye and love emojis.
At the 2021 Met Gala, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were the last ones to arrive on the red carpet. A$AP Rocky’s colourful blanket-cape outfit and Rihanna’s black-silver-themed ensemble went viral and left netizens in a state of wonder.

Met Gala, one of the biggest fashion nights, is currently being held in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme is ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’, which follows the Met Gala 2021 — which took place in September — theme, ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’.
As per Billboard, for the 2022 Met Gala Lin-Manuel Miranda, Regina King, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are serving as co-chairs. This year’s event’s theme is ‘Gilded Glamour’, inspired by the turn-of-the-century Gilded Age in American history. The theme encourages today’s biggest stars to interpret late 19th-century clothing through a modern lens.
