While asked for reaction on the quantum of punishment to be announced against Yasin Malik today by NIA court in Delhi, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said “I have said earlier also Kashmir is a political issue, here many people were hanged earlier as well, many were given life imprisonment but that didn’t resolve the Kashmir issue instead Kashmir issue turned further complex”.
Mehbooba Mufti said “I understand the muscular policy which have been adopted by government india will bear the adverse results in Kashmir, the situation will complicate further instead of solution”.
Mehbooba Mufti was addressing a rally at Kulgam in South Kashmir, while adressing the people Mehbooba said when her father Mufti Syed was Home Minister of India, Yasin Malik was jailed and my father told him to shun the gun and start talking with government. Mehbooba said her father had initiated dialogue in Kashmir and started improving situation in Jammu and Kashmir and today situation is totally deteriorated.
