Srinagar:
Two newly recruited terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba ‘TRF’ were killed in an encounter by forces at Awantipora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir early today. Both the terrorists came on the radar of forces soon after the Killing of TV actress and social media sensation Amreen Bhat in Chadura.
Police sources told News24 that, after killing the Amreen Bhat a day ago, LeT terrorists Shahid Mushtaq and Farhan Habib moved to Awantipora to hide themselves but joint team of police, army and other security forces were tracking the footprints of killers of Ambreen and tracking them closely.
An army officer who wish not to be named told News24 that army’s 12 sector RR, 55 RR along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF finally cornered these two LeT terrorists in Awantipora area yesterday late in the evening just after 24 hours of killing of TV actress, both the terrorists were neutralised during encounter in the wee hours.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar told News24 that two newly recruited militants namely Shahid Mushtaq Bhat resident of Hafroo Chadoora Budgam and Farhan Habib resident of Hakripora Pulwama were killed in Awantipora encounter.
He said that the slain militants are involved in killing of TV artist Amreen Bhat and the attack was carried out on the instructions of LeT commander Lateef. 01 AK 56 rifle, 4 magazines and a pistol has been recovered from the killed terrorists.
In an another seperate anti militants operation, two newly recruited terrorists of Lashker were killed during gunfight with forces at Soura area of Srinagar.
IGP Vijay Kumar told News24 that two newly recruited militants affiliated with LeT identified as Shakir Ahmad Waza and Afreen Aftab Malik were killed in an encounter in Soura Srinagar on friday early morning, this is the same area where a police cop was killed and his minor daughter was injured in the terrorist attack on 23rd May. IGP said both were the residents of Trenz Shopian and was listed as ‘C’ categorised terrorists. Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition has been recovered from these killed terrorists.
IG Vijay Kumar said that terrorists have earlier threatened to target the families of policemen and civilians, which is totally cowardice on their part but forces are alert and launching continuous anti terrorist operations across the Kashmir Valley.
While giving the details about recent anti terrorist operations, IGP Kashmir said that, total ten terrorists including three from Jaish and seven from Lashker ‘TRF’ have been killed in last three days in Kashmir valley.
