A government employee with revenue department was shot at by the terrorists at Tehsildar office in Chadoora area of Bidgam Central Kashmir. He was rushed to hospital but declared brought dead at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
Officials told News24 that an employee at Tehsil office identified as Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhatt was fired upon by terrorists in the office premises, when he was performing his duties.
The employee, who has sustained grievous injuries rushed to Srinagar hospital for treatment, but his life couldn’t be saved as doctors declared him brought dead at SMHS hospital in Srinagar, officials told News24.
Jammu and Kashmir police while confirming the attacked tweeted “Terrorists fired upon one employee namely Shri Rahul Bhat from #minority community in Tehsildar office Chadoora, #Budgam. He has been shifted to hospital.”
In an another tweet police said “The #injured was immediately brought to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment where he #succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary investigation reveals that 02 #terrorists are #involved in this #heinous crime & have used pistol for committing this crime.”
Soon after the terrorist attack forces have cordoned off the nearb area and launched search operation to nab the attackers but so far there is no trace of terrorists involved in the attack.
Meanwhile several pilitical parties, mainstream leaders including Omer Abdullah condemned the attack on Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat, Omer tweeted “I unequivocally condemn the murderous militant attack on Rahul Bhatt. Rahul was a government employee working in the Tehsil office in Chadoora where he was attacked. Targeted killings continue & a sense of fear grows unchecked. My heartfelt condolences to Rahul’s family-RIP.”
