Kashmir: TV actress Amreen Bhatt's killers gunned down in Awantipora encounter

Security forces have got a big success in Jammu and Kashmir. Four terrorists have been killed in two separate encounters in the Kashmir Valley since late night, out of which two terrorists have been killed in Awantipora. 

It is being said that both these terrorists were involved in the murder of TV actress Amreen Bhatt. At the same time, two terrorists were killed by the security forces in an encounter in Srinagar. 

With this, the number of terrorists killed by the security forces over the last three days has gone up to 10.

Inspector-General of Police (Kashmir region) Vijay Kumar said in a tweet, “Both the trapped terrorists have been killed. The search is still on. Further details will follow.”

The police officer shared details about more slain terrorists Shahid Mushtaq Bhat and Farhan Habib. 

He tweeted, “Both include local terrorists identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat and Farhan Habibi. They killed TV actor Amreen on the instructions of Lashkar commander Latif.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Police also recovered one AK 56 rifle, four magazines and a pistol from the possession of the slain terrorists.

On Wednesday evening, Kashmiri TV actress Amreen Bhatt was killed while her 10-year-old nephew was injured after


entered her house at Chadoora in Budgam district. She used to work as a TV artist and was also a social media star.

The IGP further informed about the encounter, which was going on between militants and Srinagar Police in the Khatta area of Srinagar district, in which two terrorists of the terrorist organization were killed. They were identified as Shakir Ahmed Waza and Afrin Aftab Malik, both Shopian residents and ‘C’ category terrorists. 

In another tweet, Kumar said, “Inventories including arms and ammunition have been recovered.”

“Two terrorists were killed in connection with the murder of TV actor Amren Bhat in the Avantpora encounter last night,” Kumar told news agency PTI.
