The constable was targeted from close range and the terrorist used a pistol. On the other hand, the security forces surrounded the area and started investigating the terrorists. It is being told that the police constable is posted in Pulwama itself.

Providing details of the incident, Kashmir Zone Police shared a tweet which read, “Terrorist fired at Police Constable Reyaz Ahmed Thokkar son Ali Mohammad at his residence in Gudru, Pulwama. He has been shifted to the hospital. The area has been cordoned off. Further details will follow”.

Meanwhile, a huge crowd gathered inside his office in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday for the last rites of Rahul Bhat, a government employee of the Kashmiri Pandit community who was killed by terrorists.

The incident took place in the afternoon when terrorists entered the tehsil office in Chadoora town and opened fire on Bhat. The 45-year-old, who was employed as a clerk, was rushed to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to news agency PTI, Kashmir Valley leaders and political parties have condemned the killing, which was claimed by a little-known organisation, ‘Kashmir Tigers’.
