IPL2022, RRvsRCB: Unbeaten Jos Buttler hits century to take his side in finals

Ahmedabad:

Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals has sailed into the finals of Indian Premier League 2022. Job Buttler stole the show with an unbeaten century against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RR bowlers had put RCB batters in misery and restricted them to 157 in this crucial match of the tournament. Virat Kohli was dismissed in the second over itself for just 7 runs and captain du Plessis followed in the dressing room for 25 runs. Rajat Patidar, the highest-scoring batsman for RCB garnered 58. Nine RCB players aggregately put 157 on board, which seemed like a cake-walk for RR.

Samson’s RR chased the target with only 5 of their players, Buttler being the highest scorer. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal went back for 21 runs and captain Samson contributed 23 runs. Men in Pink won the game with 11 balls left and at the loss of just 3 wickets.

Gujarat Titans has been waiting for their opponent, sitting on the berth of IPL finals and the two will fight off for the trophy on Sunday. If Hardik Pandya manages to lead his side for win, this will be the side’s maiden win and that too in their maiden season. On the other hand, RR will eye on ending their trophy drought as they last won in 2008, the first season of IPL.
