Post corona virus spread, now the monkeypox virus is spreading globally. Due to the increasing cases of this infection, the government has also become very cautious. Meanwhile, a medical company claims that they have made an RT-PCR based kit to detect this virus. These RT-PCR kits can easily diagnose the difference between smallpox and monkeypox. This test takes about an hour to fetch the results. With the help of this kit, the person infected with the virus can be easily detected. The RT-PCR kit is made by a Chennai based firm Trivitron Healthcare.
Right treatment needed
According to the World Health Organization, more than 200 suspected cases of monkeypox have been reported from Europe, the Middle East, and North America, as well as from 20 other countries. According to the WHO, there is a possibility of spreading this virus on a large scale. According to the WHO for preparedness for infectious threats globally, the disease can be currently ‘contained’ if the right measures are taken.
Monkey pox cases not yet detected in India
According to the WHO, there is no need for mass vaccination against monkeypox currently. However, the vaccination is available for people who have been in close contact with infected people. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), not a single case of monkeypox has been reported in India so far. But the Indian government is ready for such a possibility, especially when its cases are increasing globally.
Spread by animals like rats and rabbits
The central government has given instructions to all the states for special monitoring of people coming from abroad. The central government has instructed the health organization to monitor the situation of monkeypox. Monkey pox is mainly caused by animals like rats and rabbits. This virus spreads rapidly from animals to humans. The virus is spread by touching an infected person and through the bedding and clothing used by him.
Symptoms of Monkey Pox
If a person becomes infected with monkeypox, then he starts showing symptoms in at least 5 to 10 days, in which symptoms like fever, body pain and vomiting-diarrhoea start showing. Along with this, small grains also start emerging on the body of the infected person, which look like boils and pimples.
