"Distracting people won’t change facts," says Rahul Gandhi while drawing parallel between India, Sri Lanka

New Delhi:

Former president of the Congress party Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday shared a post that compared India with Sri Lanka in social terms. The picture implied that the nation looks similar to Sri Lanka.

“Distracting people won’t change the facts. India looks a lot like Sri Lanka,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi while sharing the picture.

The picture chart shared by the Congress leader expressed that the unemployment, petrol price and communal violence in India is similar to the Sri Lanka’s.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Centre is trying to divert attention of people from the issues like unemployment, inflation etc. Gandhi has been vocal against the BJP for several burning issues and asking the youth to step up and raise their voices to fight on real issues.

A day earlier, the Congress leader took a dig at the BJP saying that the ‘negative thinking’ of the saffron outfit has to be defeated in order to ensure the progress of the nation.

“Public issues – earnings, inflation…  BJP issues – riots, dictatorship. If the country has to progress, then the negative thinking of BJP and the politics of hate has to be defeated. Let’s join ‘India’ together,” tweeted the Congress leader.

The remarks of Gandhi came in the wake of several communal outbreaks occurring in several states of the nation.
