Delhi School Nursery admissions 2022: Applications sought for last year's vacant seats, know the admission process

New Delhi:

According to the Directorate of Education (DoE), the Delhi government has invited applications for admission to the entry level classes against the vacant seats in the previous academic session. A senior DoE official said, “Some private schools have claimed that entry level classes (Nursery, KG and Class I) in the 2021-22 academic session could not take admission under open seats as per their declared number. Applications are being invited for admission on the vacant seats in such private schools.

He said that applicants will have to apply directly to the school by June 2. The process of nursery admissions in over 1,700 schools for the academic session 2021-22 could begin in February last year, two months after the normal time.

Delhi government officials had earlier said that a proposal to scrap the nursery admission process was being considered as schools remained closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the school principals objected to this and the proposal was eventually rescinded.
