Delhi: Indian Youth Congress hold protest seeking justice for Sidhu Moose Wala

Indian Youth Congress workers on Tuesday held protest in the national capital demanding justice for Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala. 

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in the Mansa district of Punjab yesterday evening, a day after Punjab Police curtailed the security cover of 420 people, including him.

Canada-based Indian-origin gangster Goldie Brar, an associate of noted gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

A huge crowd took part in the funeral procession of singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Punjab’s Mansa. According to sources related to Mansa district administration and Sidhu Moosewala’s family, the body was taken to the village in the morning.

After a post-mortem was conducted by a panel of five doctors yesterday, it had emerged that 25 bullet wounds were found in the body of popular singer Sidhu Moosewala, officials familiar with the matter said. An official said excessive bleeding could have been the cause of death.

According to medical officials, Sidhu Moosewala’s right elbow was fractured due to multiple bullet injuries. 

The 28-year-old singer, who contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections on a Congress ticket, was shot dead while driving his SUV in Punjab’s Mansa district on Sunday. He was declared brought dead in the hospital.

The Punjab Police on Monday said they have detained around 10 people in connection with the murder of Sidhu Moosewala and an official said their role was being ascertained.

According to the police, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed responsibility for the murder of the Punjabi singer.

The police said Sidhu Moosewala was killed in retaliation for the murder of youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukheda last year. Police said the name of Sidhu Moosewala’s manager Shaganpreet had figured in the murder of Middukheda.
