A case of sexual harassment of a woman has come to light on the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus of the country. The victim woman has made this allegation against an activist of the All India Students Association (AISA).
In a statement issued by the Concerned Women of JNU, the accused touched the victim inappropriately without her consent and forcibly grabbed her from behind. The victim is also being told about the conspiracies through her classmates to defame her and damage her credibility.
The date of the incident was not mentioned in the statement. Meanwhile, AISA said that the investigation of the complaint has been sent to the committee which recommends action against the sexual harassment case. The accused worker has been asked not to participate in the activities of the organization.

When contacted, Poonam Kumari, presiding officer of JNU ICC, refused to divulge any details about the incident. JNU’s Dean of Students Welfare Sudhir Pratap Singh also said that he was not aware of any such incident.
Meanwhile, JNU AISA secretary Madhurima Kundu said that she has sent a message to the complainant and assured her of justice.
