Coronavirus Pandemic: India registers over 2,000 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours

Covid-19 Update:

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, 2,338 new coronavirus cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases to 4,31,58,087.

According to the Union Health Ministry, active Covid-19 cases have risen by 185 to 17,883, while 19 coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the country on Monday.

The ministry further said that 2,134 people have been cured of the coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours and were discharged on Monday. This takes the total number of people who have been cured in India to 4,26,15,574 so far.

The total death toll in the country now stands at 5,24,630. In India, the first death due to the Covid-19 pandemic occurred in March 2020.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 85,04,41,292 samples have been tested for Covid-19 till May 30. Of these, 3,63,883 samples were tested on Monday.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.97 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.58 per cent.

Delhi Covid-19 Tally

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded 212 fresh Covid-19 cases and one death on Monday, while the positivity rate stood at 2.42 per cent, according to data shared by the city’s health department.

With this, the national capital’s COVID-19 tally rose to 19,06,523 and the death toll rose to 26,209. The department, in its latest bulletin, said that a total of 8,768 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the national capital on the previous day.
