Champions League Final: A rematch of 2018, Liverpool seek revenge against Madrid

Paris:

Champions League Final has stirred up the emotions of the fans as the two great clubs of football prepare for the summit clash with two very different motives in their eyes.

Liverpool is gearing up to lock horns with European nemesis Real Madrid in a rematch of 2018 Champions League final as the former seek revenge for the trophy’s loss in that season and the deliberate injury to their star player, Mohammed Salah.

The then Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos ended the Egyptian Forward’s outing at European Cup’s final prematurely after causing him a shoulder injury. Ramos was later accused of hurting the Red Forward deliberately but it had already cost them the UCL Cup.

The memory of Kyiv’s NSC Olimpiyshiy Stadium, the host stadium for the 2018 final, is still afresh in the memories of the Reds, especially for Salah and it is evident in his Instagram post that he put right after Madrid qualified for the finale.

Salah captioned a photo of himself saying, “We have a score to settle.” Though, there will be no defending Ramos tonight, as he went to Paris Saint-Germain on a two year contract, but the rage will be faced by the entire Madrid team.

Madrid is in the race of their record 14th title, the highest of all clubs whereas, Liverpool is fighting off their chances for the 7th trophy. After the dream of Quadruple being shattered into pieces due to one point loss at Premier League to Manchester City, Reds would definitely want to end the season on a high.

The journey to the UCL finals is pumping for both the sides as Jurgen Klopp thrashed Inter Milan, Benfica and Villarreal en route to the Stade de France and Carlo Ancelotti’s men made their way going past Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Man City.

From here on, the silverware is a step away and Liverpool have tasted defeat recently would have enormous motivation but the fitness of the key players stands as a major concern for the team. Clouds of doubt are sailing over Fabinho and Thiago Alcântara due to recent injuries but their rapid growth can be considered a sigh of relief.

League Managers’s Association Premier League Manager of the Year, Klopp, has guided his men for a English League Cup and FA Cup win, and the side now just awaits UCL trophy.
