Centre's demonetisation problem for Indian economy: Maharashtra HM Dilip Patil

Mumbai:

Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Tuesday said the demonetisation implemented by Narendra Modi-led central government is a ‘problem’ for the national economy. He said the Centre should tell the people what measures had the former taken to control the damage.

“The central government’s demonetisation is a problem for the Indian economy. The central govt should conduct a thorough investigation and tell the public why this (demonetisation) happened and the measures the government took to control it further,” said the Home Minister.

The minister further responded to a question on the ‘Dharma Sansad’ called by Swami Aniket Shastri Deshpande. He said these are attempts of diverting attention from real issues.

He said, “this is to distract from real issues. Don’t pay heed… fear and dissension being created. It doesn’t matter to devotees about location of his birth, they just worship him.”

A controversy has surfaced over the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Meanwhile, in order to resolve the issue, Deshpande, who is Maharaj of Mahant Shri Mandalacharya Peethadheeshwar, called a Dharma Sansad on May 31 in Nashik.

In the Dharma Sansad, the sadhus, across the country, are invitied put forth their views regarding the birthplace of Lord Hanuman and after that whatever decision will be taken in Sansad will be accepted by all, said Swami Aniket.
