Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardana yesterday stated that the 21st Amendment to the Constitution will be taken up for discussion in Cabinet next week. He was speaking at a media briefing at the Government Information Department yesterday (24).
The Minister said that Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has introduced the 21st Amendment to the Constitution to resolve the political crisis that has arisen as a by-product of the current situation and to bring about a new change.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena further stated that the Amendment was given yesterday and accordingly the Cabinet has decided to submit the proposal to all Party leaders representing Parliament immediately.
