Biplav Dev resigns as the CM of Tripura, cabinet surprised by the decision

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday resigned from his chief minister’s post. Party sources confirmed that he has resigned. News agency ANI has confirmed this news.

According to reports, Deb was in Delhi on Friday and returned to Agartala on Saturday morning. According to reports, after the resignation of Deb, a minister in his cabinet has told the media- “We have been surprised. Don’t know what prompted him to take this step. But apparently there was discussion with the central leadership of his party. The party may have some plans and we are sure that it will be good for the party.”

BJP sources said that the legislature party will meet at 5 pm today for the election of the new chief minister. Also, it is being claimed in some news that the outgoing CM will be used for the organizational work of the party.

Significantly, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and senior leader Vinod Tawde will be the central observers for the appointment of the new CM. Speculations are that Manik Shah is the front runner for as the next CM of Tripura.
