Big Lashker module busted in Kashmir, seven including a female terrorist associate arrested

Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted a terrorist module of Lashker-e-Toiba by arresting three Lashker terrorists and their associates including a woman in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Police officials told News24 that “after recent two encounters in Bandipora police had started a thorough investigation to find out the terrorists supporting infiltrating terrorist in the forest area of district, during the course of investigation Police along security forces busted a terrorist module of LeT by arresting an active Pakistani trained terrorist, two hybrid terrorist and four terrorist associates including a lady”.

Police officials further said that “Pakistan trained” terrorist has been identified as Arif Ajaz Shehri son of Ajaz Ahmad alias Anfall of  Nadihal, who had went to Pakistan on valid visa in year 2018 through Wagah Border and infiltrated back to this side after obtaining illegal arms training and started actively working with LeT in Bandipora.

The two other “hybrid militants” have been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Reshi and Shariq Ahmad Lone. As per police officials the arrested militants were tasked to carry out attacks on Police, secure forces, army and other soft targets particularly in Bandipora district.

Besides three active terrorists police has also succeeded in arresting of four terrorist associates including a lady identified as Sheema Shafi Waza.

Police officials said that Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested terrorist associates were involved in harbouring terrorists, providing logistics/material support including transportation in the Bandipora district. Officials said the arrested female terrorist associate was also involved in providing Wi-Fi hotspot, accommodation to the terrorists and was also ferrying terrorists from one place to another in Bandipora town.

As per police officials incriminating materials, arms ammunition including 02 Pistols, 03 Pistol Magazine, 25 Pistol rounds, 03 Hand Grenades were recovered from their possession. Besides, seven vehicles including two wheelers which was being used in ferrying of terrorists from Bandipora to Nowgam, Pantha Chowk and Srinagar was also seized.

Police officials termed the operation as successful one and said the arrest of these terrorists and their associates will definitely weaken the terrorist base in Bansipora area of North Kashmir.
