Biden says, 'We are prepared for anything North Korea does', in Seoul

New Delhi:

U.S. President Joe Biden had a simple message for North Korea’s supremo Kim Jong Un, “Hello…period,”. President Biden gave this message while addressing journalists on the last day of visit to South Korea. He is now headed to Japan, which is part of his first trip to Asia as president.

Following the reports of North Korea’s nuclear test, Biden responded that he is “not concerned”.

However, Biden’s response to Kim Jong is being speculated as his administration’s low-key approach to the unresolved tensions with North Korea. His approach is being looked as in extensive contrast to that of the former US President Donald Trump.

However, neither of the president’s approach had led to any breakthrough with North Korea. Kim Jong has reportedly resumed the testing of its largest intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Intelligence reports suggest, it is preparing for a nuclear test.

“We are prepared for anything North Korea does,” Biden said.

Following his stop in Seoul, his South Korean counterpart, President Yoon Suk-yeol has agreed to expand the perimeters of military exercises and potentially deploy more nuclear-capable American weapons in the region. This will be a message to North Korea’s weapon testings.

Biden has also said he his willing to have a meeting with Kim if he sees the possibility of a serious breakthrough.
