ATTENTION Yellow Ration Card holders: Centre makes BIG CHANGE, know THIS or else you will not get ration!

New Delhi:

If you also have a yellow ration card and receive free rations from the government every month, this news is for you. Actually, the government has made significant changes to the rationing rules. This modification will go into effect in June. In such a case, all ration card holders must be aware of these regulations.

Centre

to provide rice instead of wheat

The central government provides free wheat and rice to ration card holders in the states. This distribution is made possible by the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. According to media reports, you will now get rice instead of wheat in this scheme. If this occurs, you will receive less wheat and more rice beginning in June.

Wheat will not be available in three states

The Modi government has reduced the wheat quota that will be allotted under the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana from May to September. Wheat will no longer be available for free distribution in UP, Bihar, or Kerala as a result of this change. Wheat quotas have also been reduced in Delhi, Gujarat, Jharkhand, MP, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. Cardholders in these states will receive less wheat and more rice. In the remaining states, no changes were made.

Reason for lower wheat purchases

The reason for the end of wheat allocation in UP-Bihar is said to be a decrease in wheat procurement. Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey stated that approximately 55 lakh metric tonnes of rice will be allocated during this additional allocation. This modification only applies to PMGKAY. This will result in less wheat and more rice being distributed in some states than previously.
