Asia Road Racing Championship: Rajiv Sethu scores points for Honda Racing India

Honda Racing India rider Rajiv Sethu scored a point on the second day of the 2022 Asia Road Racing Championship being held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and kept himself cool and finished the second race of the second round of ARRC 15th. Finished on the position. The second day of the second round of ARRC 2022 was extremely dramatic. On the second day, 14 riders in 5 categories crashed due to distraction. But the Honda Racing India team secured another point in the Asia Production 250 class (AP250) of the championship, finishing the round well.

Starting the race well, Rajiv Sethu moved from 16th position to 14th position before the end of the first lap. But he then had a tough fight with Indonesian rider Fitriansyah Kete and local rider Mohamed Idlan Hakimi. Sliding back from here, he came to the 17th position in the 5th lap. After the sixth lap, Rajiv returned to the 16th position. In the last lap, he overtakes his next rider and finished the race at 15th position and secured 1 point for Honda Racing India.

It was a difficult match for Rajiv’s teammate Senthil Kumar. After starting from the 17th position on the grid, he moved to the 16th position in the first lap and maintained his position till the second lap. After this, in the third lap, he again returned to the 17th position. Between the 4th and 5th laps, Senthil overtook his rival riders to reach 14th position and recorded his best lap time in Sepang. In the midst of this tough fight, Senthil came out in the last corner of the race of 8 laps, where he crashed, but improved from here, he somehow completed his race.

Talking about the race, Prabhu Nagaraj Operating Officer, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “The Malaysia round has been a satisfying one for us. 14 riders crashed on the circuit, but our riders fought hard against their nearest competitors to finish the race. Every race goes by giving the riders a valuable lesson. I am sure that our riders and team will learn a lot from this race and improve their performance. The third round of the ARRC will take place at the sports-landed Sugo International Circuit in Japan.
