Allegations of wrongdoing should be proved - Malwathu Anunayake Thera

Those accusing the Rajapaksa’s of any wrongdoing must clearly prove their allegations otherwise such accusations cannot be justified, Anunayake of the Malwathu Chapter Ven. Niyangoda Sri Vijithasiri Thera said. Ven. Vijithasiri Thera stated that allegations can be made by anyone but making allegations without any proof was unfair.

He was speaking to a group of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarians who are supporting a proposal for an All Party Government. The group of Parliamentarians called on the Anunayake of the Malwathu Chapter at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya last Friday. The Thera told the Parliamentarians that if the Prime Minister resigned or was removed by a No-Confidence Motion to establish an All-Party Government, the accusations levelled at him by some international elements at the time of ending terrorism can resurface.

The Thera said such decisions should be taken carefully at a time when allegations are being made against Sri Lanka by the Geneva based Human Rights Council.
