Afghanistan: Serial blasts shake Kabul just before Eid

Kabul:

During the last 48 hours, two bomb blasts have hit Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. A woman is reported to have been killed in an explosion in Kabul on Saturday, while three others were injured. A series of blasts in Afghanistan ahead of the festival of Eid have turned the celebratory atmosphere into one of mourning.

It is being said that the blast in Kabul on Saturday was carried out with a magnetic bomb.

Explosion using magnetic bomb

Afghan police spokesman Khalid Zadran tweeted that a woman was killed and three others were injured in an explosion using a magnetic bomb in Kabul. Security officials who reached the spot after the blast have started an investigation.

Significantly, during the last few weeks, a series of blasts in Afghanistan has shaken the entire country. The blast took place in the mosque after Friday prayers. In which about 10 people were killed and many others were injured. On Thursday, two explosions took place in Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh province, killing at least nine people and injuring 13.

One blast took place near an educational institution, while the second blast took place in a vehicle. The Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the twin blasts.

Taliban forcibly occupied Afghanistan

The security system in Afghanistan has weakened since the Taliban took power. Which is facing heavy criticism from the world community. The United Nations has imposed a number of sanctions on the Taliban due to terrorist activities. In August last year, the Taliban forcibly occupied Kabul after the US ended military operations in the country. After which the Taliban established an interim government under the leadership of Mohammad Hassan Akhund. Since then the country is facing humanitarian crisis with economic crisis and food shortage.
