The Bakery Owners’ Association yesterday said that a loaf of 450g bread will be increased by Rs.30 with effect from yesterday midnight.The Association added that the prices of other bakery products will also be raised by Rs 10.
Meanwhile the Canteen Owners’Association yesterday said that it will increase the price of rice, kottu and rice by 20 percent per packet due to rising fuel prices.
The Association said that on several occasions the price of fuel has gone up by a very high amount and in comparison the prices of all commodities have gone up and the price of wheat flour alone has gone up by Rs. 40 per kilo.
