Two LP Gas ships to arrive

Two ships carrying 7,200 metric tons of LP Gas will be reaching Colombo on April 25 and 27 and once the first consignment of 3,600 metric tons of LP Gas is unloaded, the production of gas for domestic purpose will be resumed, a Litro Gas Lanka Ltd spokesman said.

He said that the distribution of the domestic gas cylinders to the market had to be stopped due to the lack of stocks from April 12.The distribution process can not be well organised unless the shipments have reached the port. Therefore, we expect to resume the distribution after April 25,” he added.

The company currently has only a small gas reserve to be issued only to the essential sectors such as trade, hospitals, security and crematoriums.
