'To understand soul of India, you should listen, read Sri Aurobindo': Amit Shah

New Delhi:

While remembering Sri Aurobindo on his 150 birth anniversary, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said people should read and listen to the former to understand the soul of India. He added that same culture is binding all of us across the nation.

He said, “If you want to understand the soul of India, you should listen and read Sri Aurobindo. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Dwarka to Bengal, somewhere the same culture binds us all.”

The minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. He further said, “Unless we pass on the thoughts of Sri Aurobindo to the new generation, we do not create curiosity in their mind to know them, then the objectives of celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo cannot be fulfilled.”

The Union Minister further mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we are striving to make the India of Shri Aurobindo’s dream in the 75th year of independence.”

While lauding the Indian philosopher, Shah said, “Shri Aurobindo ji has given such literature to the country by doing as much work as 100 lives in his one life, without any expectation of fame, for ages and ages, the country can keep moving forward on the path of development without stopping. His thoughts are invaluable heritage for the country.”

“Shri Aurobindo ji put the concept of Swaraj in front of the country in a very simple way. He believed that India has the power that can solve all the problems of the world,” said Shah.
