Actor Tabu has started filming for ‘Drishyam 2’.
Tabu took to her Instagram on Tuesday and shared a picture of a clapboard, writing, “Day 1. Drishyam 2”. The shooting for the film has started.
Drishyam 2 is a sequel to Tabu and Ajay Devgn’s 2015 crime thriller ‘Drishyam’ helmed by Abhishek Pathak.
For the unversed, in the hit film, ‘Drishyam’ Ajay Devgn’s on-screen character of Vijay made everyone believe that their family went on a holiday but it was a perfect plan to save his family from a murder conviction.
Ajay is all set to reprise one of his most intriguing characters on-screen and continue in Vijay’s shoes in the sequel. The story unveils a journey that leaves the audience thinking about what might be his way out this time.
Tabu will reprise her role as Meera Deshmukh, Inspector General of Police. As per reports, the sequel is being shot in Goa.
Earlier, Ajay Devgan took his Instagram and shared a BTS from the ‘Drishyam 2’ shoot with Shriya Saran, who plays Vijay’s wife Nandini in the movie, and the director Abhishek Pathak.
Devgan captioned the post: “Can Vijay protect his family again? #Drishyam2 shoot begins.”
“Drishyam was loved and it’s a legend. I am now elated to present yet another interesting story with Drishyam 2. Vijay is a multidimensional character and he creates an engaging narrative onscreen. Abhishek Pathak (director) has a fresh vision for this film.” The 52-years-old actor said to Hindustan Times.
“I’m keenly looking forward to part 2, filling in the large shoes of the earlier film with people investing in the mystery and the characters,” he added.
Speaking about the directing Drishyam 2, Abhishek Pathak said, “Making an official remake of a successful franchise film is an honor and a challenge.
