Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has collaborated with actor Sidharth Malhotra for a cop-based web series, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Sidharth Malhotra, on Tuesday, took to social media on Tuesday to make the official announcement. Sharing a glimpse of his cop avatar, Sidharth revealed that he is all set to make his OTT debut with a cop-based show which will be a part of Shetty’s much talked about cop universe. Taking to social media, Sidharth shared a picture of himself dressed in cop uniform and wrote, “Rohit Shetty’s cop universe goes digital tomorrow at 11am! @itsrohitshetty @rohitshettypicturez @primevideoin.” The picture has Sidharth’s back facing the camera as she appears in front of what seems to be a heavy traffic jam. Rohit Shetty also shared the same picture and captioned, “Action begins tomorrow at 11:00 AM! #NowFilming @primevideoin @sidmalhotra”.

While details of the cop-based series have been kept under wrap, Pinkvilla had earlier shares some inside details about the project, citing sources close to the development.
“Sid and Rohit have been discussing a probable collaboration for a while now and things have finally fallen in place with this web show. It will take off next year and will be helmed by debutant Sushwanth Prakash. Though it’s a cop-based series, the tone and treatment is very different from what the audience have seen in the digital world,” a source close to the development had told the publication.
The project will also mark Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe’s OTT debut. Under his Cop Universe, the filmmaker has previously delivered superhit films including Singham Franchise, Simmba and recently-released Sooryavanshi.
Meanwhile, talking about Sidharth Malhotra, the actor has been in demand post the release of Shershaah. He has multiple projects in his kitty. After wrapping up the shoot for Yoddha, the actor had been working on Mission Majnu.
