Ratan Tata gets emotional while sharing the stage with PM Modi; Watch video to know why

Sharing the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, industrialist Ratan Tata won the hearts of many with his speech while addressing a government function in Assam on Thursday. “Today is a very important day for Assam. Whatever I will say, I’ll say it from heart,” said the 84-year-old tycoon.

He said, “I dedicate my last years to health. Make Assam a state that recognizes and gives recognition to all. Today is a very important day in the history of the state of Assam. This is the day that Takes Assam to a higher level in terms of health care and cancer treatment… It is indeed a day when for cancer (which is not a disease of a rich man) the state has to serve lakhs of people. None of this would have happened had it not been for the Chief Minister and certainly without the support of the Prime Minister.”

“It is a matter of humility and pride that today’s incident is the culmination of very advanced thinking,” he said.

On Thursday, PM Modi launched Asia’s largest cancer care network by inaugurating seven hospitals and laying the foundation stone for many more for the treatment of the disease. Modi said at a public meeting in Dibrugarh, “There was a time when the establishment of a hospital in seven years was considered a great achievement. But today seven new hospitals were inaugurated in a day in Assam. Three more cancer hospitals are under construction and the foundation stone of seven more has been laid.

“There is a need for such a comprehensive and specialized cancer care network in Assam, as the state and rest of the Northeast are witnessing a large number of cancer cases. Earlier, patients from poor and middle class families had to go outside the state for treatment.
