Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas surprised everyone with the announcement of the birth of their daughter in January. While Priyanka is a social butterfly, she has refrained from sharing pictures of her daughter on social media. In a rare event, Priyanka recently opened up about embracing parenthood.
During an interaction with Lilly Singh about her new book, Priyanka spoke about the kind of parent she wants to be to the little one. She also shared how she will make sure that her daughter has her own identity, independent of her. “As a new parent right now, I keep thinking that I will never be imposing my desires, fears, my upbringing onto my child. I have always believed that children come through you not from you. There is no belief like this is my child and I will shape everything. They come through you to find and build their own life. Recognising that really helped me, my parents were very non-judgemental in a certain way,” Priyanka said.
Lilly Singh is launching her new book titled ‘Be a Triangle: How I Went from Being Lost to Getting My Life …’ and had a chat with Priyanka about the same.
Recently, Priyanka’s mother Dr Madhu Chopra had opened up about being a grandparent. “I am very happy. I am smiling all the time,” she had said. She is yet to meet her granddaughter.
On the work front, Priyanka currently has several projects lined up. She has wrapped up shooting for Text For You and web series, Citadel. She has recently signed Ending Things opposite Anthony Mackie. The film recently landed on Amazon Prime. She also has Farah Akhtar’s Bollywood film Jee Le Zaraa in her kitty. A spin-off to 2011 film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Jee Le Zaraa will also star Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
