PM Modi inaugurates Assam Medical College

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Diphu in Karbi Anglong district of Assam to participate in the ‘Peace, Unity and Development Rally’. PM Modi visited Manja Veterinary College in Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong Agricultural College, Ampani West Karbi Anglong Government College and laid the foundation stone of many schemes. 

Along with this, he also inaugurated 7 new cancer hospitals here.

Addressing the people who came here, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Today, a foundation stone of Rs 1,000 crore has been laid here. All these institutions are going to give new opportunities to the youth here. The foundation stone laid today is not just the foundation stone of the building, but the foundation stone of my youth.”

He said, “Friends, you know very well that I have tried to understand your problems as a member of your own family. When as members of a family we all seek solutions like a family, there is a sensitivity to it, there is a feeling of pain and suffering.”

PM Modi said that today the country is moving ahead with the target of 75,000 Amrit Sarovar. It started from Jammu and Kashmir a few days ago. Amrit Sarovar will also benefit in fish farming. After 2014, the difficulties in the North East are decreasing continuously and people are developing.

He said, “Today violence, anarchy are being resolved in the whole country. In September last year, many organizations of Karbi Anglong have taken steps to move forward on the path of peace and development. Recently, the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act was scrapped from 23 districts of Assam. We have removed AFSPA from many areas of the Northeast due to better law and order. With the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, solutions are being sought today to solve the border related issues. The recent agreement between Assam and Meghalaya will encourage others as well.”
