The central government has decided to celebrate the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, with great pomp. On this occasion, a two-day conference will be organized at the Red Fort in Delhi.
It will be organized on April 20 and 21 at the Red Fort. It is going to be organized by the central government, while the Delhi Gurdwara Committee is giving full cooperation to the government in this program.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the program and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the concluding program on April 21. The Prime Minister’s address will also take place on this occasion. This address of Prime Minister Modi will be for the whole country.
According to Harmeet Singh Kalka, President of Delhi Gurdwara Committee, a light and sound show and Shabd Kirtan will be organized on the first day of this program on April 20, while the next day on 21st April, 400 Ragi Singh will perform Kirtan together. A commemorative coin and postage stamp will also be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this day.
Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, was born in Amritsar in 1621. He was executed in Delhi in 1675 by the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. Situated near the Red Fort, the famous Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib was built on the spot where Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded by the Mughals.
